All types of rare metal TC can be supplied including Type R, Type S or Type B.

Base Metal Thermocouple Assemblies

Base metal assemblies are commonly made from various nickel alloys. Different combinations of nickel alloys have become popular industry standards. We can manufacture bespoke/custom designed sensors to your process or work to your specification and drawings in all common thermocouple types including: Type K, Type J, Type N, Type E and Type T.

Mineral Insulated Thermocouples

MI thermocouples are a stable, durable temperature measurement solution. MI TC’s consist of an outer metal sheath, which has an inner filling of magnesium oxide powder. This powder surrounds the conductors providing great thermal conduction and also enabling the sensor to be bent into various shapes without affecting the measuring point. We are able to offer mineral-insulated sensors in both simplex and duplex assemblies.

Cable Thermocouples

In cable thermocouples the sensor conductors are protected by flexible cable insulation. Depending on requirements the insulation can be PVC, Silicon rubber, PTFE or Glass fibre. There are many different designs of cable TC that are suitable for almost any application.

What is a Thermocouple?

A thermocouple (TC) is a sensor that is used to measure temperature. It consists of two wire conductors made out of different metals. When these metals are welded together, a junction is formed. The temperature can be calculated by working out the voltage generated when a temperature change is detected. There are a number of different TC types and designs that each performs best at certain temperatures and in specific environments.
