Rare Metal High Temperature Thermocouples
Common Rare Metal High Temperature Thermocouple Designs
Special Options
All our platinum thermocouples are custom-made, as such, we are able to tailor your sensors exactly to your requirements. There are many options available including:
Special materials
Materials which would work best in your process are available on request.
Pressure testing/tight
Pressure testing can be conducted and pressure tight designs are available.
Special coatings
Wear and chemical resistant coatings can be applied to sensors e.g. ACT™.
Lining sheaths
Ceramic lining sheaths can be added to increase heat resistance.
Calibration
UKAS accredited calibration is available. AMS 2750 F to full or traceable calibration is available.
Process Fittings
Flange or compression fittings can be added such as an adjustable or welded flange on shank
Cabling
High temperature compensating cable can be supplied fitted to sensor.
Reduced tip options
Reduced hot junction for fast response or cost saving.
Rare Metal High Temperature Thermocouple Types
There are three types of rare metal thermocouple all made from alloys of platinum and rhodium with slightly different characteristics and specifications.
UK Manufactured Rare Metal Thermocouples
Rare Metal thermocouples are made from conductors containing platinum and rhodium alloys and are suited for measuring high temperatures up to +1700°C. They are a rugged design, suited for tough industrial use. We manufacture and design rare metal thermocouple assemblies. Please see our designs below.
