What Are Temperature Transmitters?

Temperature transmitter definition

A temperature transmitter converts a temperature sensor signal into an industrial instrumentation standard. The most common signal is 4-20mA. Converting the signal enables it to be routed around a factory and transmitted long distances to associated instrumentation and control.
A transmitter provides an effective way to deliver a quality signal to instrumentation where sensor cable would be costlier and wouldn’t be as accurate.
Transmitters can be either in-head or DIN rail mounted and ATEX units are available for potentially explosive areas.
