What Are Dry-Well Calibrators?
Overview
Dry-well Calibrators are also called block calibrators. Dry-well temperature calibrators are powerful heat source that has a pocket where a temperature probe can be inserted. Inserting a probe aids in the calibration of the thermocouple or resistance thermometer.
The sensor readings can be compared to the set temperature on the dry well or compared to a calibrated reference thermometer. Often dry-wells have interchangeable wells or pockets so that a good thermal contact can be achieved with differing diameters of a temperature probe.
We have a number of dry-well temperature calibrators to purchase on our online store.
We can also conduct calibration for any existing sensors you have or on new replacement sensors. Give us a call or send us an email.
How They Work
- Probe Insertion: The sensor to be calibrated is placed into the dry-well pocket.
- Temperature Comparison: The sensor’s readings are compared against the set temperature on the dry-well or against a calibrated reference thermometer.
- Interchangeable Wells: Many dry-well calibrators come with multiple pockets or inserts to accommodate sensors of different diameters, ensuring good thermal contact for accurate calibration.
Benefits
- Accurate Calibration: Ensures temperature sensors provide reliable readings.
- Versatile: Suitable for thermocouples and RTDs of various sizes.
- Convenient: Portable options are available for field or laboratory use.
