Thermocouples and resistance thermometers made in the UK
We make temperature sensors, mainly thermocouples and resistance thermometers. We are based in Chesterfield, Derbyshire and our sensors are used in a wide variety of industries all over the world. We’ve been manufacturing sensors since 1997, and have been a stable supplier to our ever increasing list of customers.
Unlike our competitors who make many types of sensor such as flow, pressure or strain, we focus solely on temperature sensor manufacture and supplying related temperature sensor components. We also offer a range of allied services including thermocouple calibration and platinum recycling.

We are highly skilled in the manufacture of temperature sensors. All of our sensors are made in the UK. We source the highest quality components to construct the best quality sensors. We are ISO 9001 approved.
Knowledge of sensor design
We have the best knowledge of temperature sensor design. We don’t have sales people in a call centre. We have engineers who have a deep knowledge of how to make and design temperature sensors.
20 years experience
We have been making temperature sensors for 20 years. Not only has the company existed for 20 years but most of our staff have been involved in temperature measurement for much longer.
Our Company History
November 1997
Peak Sensors Ltd is formed by Peter Smith and Shekhar Nagarkar, employing former Heraeus Sensor employees after its closure.
August 2001
First website launched
February 2008
Peak Sensors moves into new premises at The Bridge Business Centre. New premises adds 100% more capacity.
June 2015
Peak Sensors becomes a member of the East Midlands Chamber.
January 2016
Peak Sensors invest in a laser welder to speed up operations, and to enable very long mineral insulated temperature sensor welds
September 2017
Apprentice George comes runner up in the 2017 Derbyshire Business Awards for Apprentice of the year
October 2020
Peak Sensors becomes a member of Made in Britain, the British manufacturing community.
November 2023
SDI Group acquires Peak Sensors Limited.
