- The Therma Differential digital thermometer is an ideal HVAC thermometer as it allows the user to use two type K thermocouple probes simultaneously. The display can be switched to show probe T1 or T2 temperature or the difference between probes T1 and T2 (T1-T2). This allows, for example, the temperature drop across radiators or the temperature rise or fall of two items to be measured.
- The Therma Differential measures temperature over the range of -99.9 to 299.9 °C with a 0.1 °C resolution or 300 to 1372 °C with a 1 °C resolution. The thermometer features a custom, LCD display with °C, T1, T2, diff, hold, open circuit, low battery indication and an optional backlight. The unit incorporates an auto-power off facility that automatically turns the instrument off after approximately ten minutes, maximising battery life.
- Each thermometer is housed in a durable, ABS case that has an integrated rubber seal to ensure complete water tightness and help reduce the possibility of damage in harsh environments.
- The Therma Differential is priced excluding probe.

Q: What is the Therma Differential Thermometer?
A: The Therma Differential is a two-channel Type K thermocouple thermometer that can display temperature from probe T1, probe T2, or the temperature difference between the two (T1-T2). It is particularly suited to HVAC and radiator balancing applications.
Q: What is a differential thermometer used for?
A: A differential thermometer allows users to compare temperatures between two points simultaneously. It is commonly used for measuring temperature drop across radiators, heat exchangers, flow and return pipework, and HVAC systems.
Q: What temperature range can it measure?
A: The Therma Differential measures temperatures from -99.9°C to +299.9°C with 0.1°C resolution and from 300°C to +1372°C with 1°C resolution.
Q: What thermocouple probes can be used?
A: The instrument accepts Type K thermocouple probes, allowing users to select the most appropriate probe for their application.
Q: Are probes included with the thermometer?
A: No. The Therma Differential is supplied without probes, enabling users to choose the probe types best suited to their temperature measurement requirements.
Q: Is the thermometer suitable for HVAC engineers?
A: Yes. The Therma Differential is specifically designed for HVAC applications, including radiator balancing, measuring temperature differentials, commissioning systems, and monitoring heating and cooling performance.
Q: How accurate is the Therma Differential?
A: The instrument provides an accuracy of ±0.4°C ±0.1% of reading, making it suitable for professional HVAC and industrial temperature measurement applications.
Q: Is the thermometer waterproof?
A: Yes. The Therma Differential features a robust waterproof case rated IP66/IP67, providing protection against dust, water, and harsh working environments.
Q: Does the thermometer include a calibration certificate?
A: Yes. Each Therma Differential Thermometer is supplied with a free traceable calibration certificate.
Q: Why choose the Therma Differential Thermometer?
A: Key benefits of the instrument include simultaneous dual-channel temperature measurement, a direct temperature differential (T1–T2) display, and suitability for HVAC and radiator balancing applications. Additional features include IP66/IP67 waterproof protection, Max/Min, Hold, and backlight functions, long battery life of up to 7,500 hours, a free traceable calibration certificate, UK manufacture, and a 2-year guarantee. These features make it a reliable and versatile solution for professional temperature measurement applications.
