What is REACH?
REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation, and Restriction of Chemicals) is a European Union regulation (EC No 1907/2006) that governs the safe use of chemical substances. It aims to protect human health and the environment by ensuring that manufacturers and importers understand and manage the risks associated with chemicals.
UK REACH & Compliance
Following Brexit, UK REACH now applies to substances manufactured or imported into Great Britain (England, Scotland, and Wales). This includes:
- Substances on their own
- Substances in mixtures (e.g., inks, paints)
- Substances in articles (e.g., sensors, electronics)
At Peak Sensors, we ensure full compliance with both EU and UK REACH regulations. We work closely with our suppliers to monitor substances used in our mineral-insulated thermocouples and temperature sensors.
